Midlife Careers
My
specialty guiding midlife career change is writing a transitional
resume and cover letter, and coaching your progress to successful
conclusion.
Since
the early 90's recession when professional-level employees first
felt economic crunch, I have worked with clients stopped by changes
from business mergers, downsizing, reengineering, acquisitions --all
outside their control.
Finding
a sudden stop point to your career in mid-50's need not be a disaster,
but can mean an opportunity to redirect your career to a new company
or industry! Please also review my new site: www.midlifecareers.com

E-mail Jan 2005: I just wanted to give you an update. I had
my 2nd and 3rd interviews with XXPharmaceuticals today. I
believe that they both went very well.
They are hoping to make a decision quickly and have someone
in place by the first of the year. Thank you for the outstanding

E-mail July, 2004: Would like you to know how much I appreciate
your work. - Information Technology Senior Management for
CTO position (Midwest Client).
E-mail June, 2004: Dear Mary Ann,I cannot tell
you how much I appreciate the work you did for me in ferreting
out the appropriate information, composing it, and helping
me accomplish my short-term goal: making a positive career
change. I wanted to make a career change and pinpoint my resume
toward a specific position. I knew what I wanted, but certainly
needed a roadmap to get there, which you very clearly and
eloquently provided. Right now I am so happy that I hope I
never need the same service from you again. I have already
recommended you and always will. Sincerely, Bush Fullerton-
North Dakota.
E-mail sent August, 2003 I would recommend your resume
service to anyone who is on a job search. It is helpful to
be able to "step back" and let someone else describe
what you have done and where your strengths are. Al McMaster

E-Mail May, 2003: Hello Mary Ann, Here's an update on
my job hunt, since you revised my resume and cover letter
this past winter
After submitting my new resume to a host of companies, both
local and outside Indiana, I was able to interview with Roche
Diagnostics, T2 Systems, Adobe Systems, Thomson Multimedia,
BioSentinel, and America Online.
Several executive recruiters also commented that my new resume
was awesome and they remarked that the profile section was
very unique and quite useful. Even my collegiate son liked
it and successfully used the profile approach in his resume
for summer work.
Just last week I received an attractive offer, with a great
relocation package, from America Online and I decided to accept
the position as their new Director of Competitive Intelligence.
It's bittersweet having to depart Indianapolis after 18 years,
but my family is excited about soon moving to the Northern
Virginia area.
Thanks again for all your help and support. You are welcome
to use my comments in any of your marketing efforts.
